Household Waste

Household trash is picked up on Tuesdays by Pine Tree Waste. Each bag must have a trash sticker prominently displayed. Residents are given 1 free sticker per week of residency in Hancock per year. If these are used before the new fiscal year begins, July 1, residents must buy stickers for $1.00 each. Bags cannot weight more than 40 pounds and need to be put curbside by 7:00 a.m.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection is an event we participate in once a year. This year it will be Saturday, August 20th at Ellsworth Highschool. Permits must be obtained from the Hancock Town Office prior to the event. Click the link above to view the flyer for the event.  Click the other link for information on options for hazardous items like absestos, fireworks and latex paint. For specific questions you can call the Town Office at 422-3393.
