The Planning Board

The Planning Board consists of 5 regular members and 2 alternate members. Each member is elected by the town residents by secret ballot for 3 year terms.
The present members of the board and their term expirations are:
  • Rod Franzius, Chairperson (2010)
  • Antonio Blasi (2010)
  • Ruth Franzius (2012)
  • Clem Silvestro (2011)
  • Ken Noddin (2012)
  • Jill Gatcomb Grant, Alternate (2012)
  • Dan Bossert, Alternate (2012)

Agendas & Minutes

Section 4A of the Regulatioons of the Hancock Planning board provides that: "All written information, including plans, which an applicant intends to submit in support of any request or application made to the Planning Board shall be submitted to the Town Clerk no later than fourteen (14) days prior to meeting. Such material shall consist of an original and six (10) copies unless otherwise provided by Town Ordinance or Regulation."

Section 5C of said Regulations provides that: "No item shall be placed onteh agenda of a special or regular meeting unless submitted in accordance with Section 4 of these regulations.

Applications for matters requiring action by the Planning Board should obtain copies of the Regulations and any revelant Ordinance for further information as to the material shat should be submitted. (Environmental Control Ordinance, Section 7: Site Plan Review; Subdivision Ordinance, Section VI: Pre-Application Sketch Plan, Section XI: Specifications, Preliminary Plans and Section XII: Specifications, Final Plans; and Mineral Extraction Ordinance, Section 5 Applications Procedures.)

The dates by which submissions for site plan review should be filed in order to be placed on the agenda for the Board's regular monthly meeting are set forth for 2008.

The Subdivision Ordinance specifies that an applicant request be placed on the agenda at least twenty-eight (28) days prior to the regularly scheduled meeting (Sections V, VII and VIII). The Planning Board in order to conduct a thorough review of appliations submitted to it, may limit such reviews to one subdivision application per regularly scheduled meeting (Section V).

The meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall on the above meeting dates.
